A forged blade - Straight stainless steel blade, forged, hardened and tempered to 48 - 55 ° HRC Rockwell (flexible), handpolished. Both sides are etched using a traditional acid etching technique that results in an etching so deep, that one can feel it with a fingernail.

Solid brass guard, polished and 24 carat goldplated.

The university crest (each university has its own crest and the pictures resemble only one style) is made of brass, polished and 24 goldplated and attached to the guard.
